Understand System Power Requirements

• Qualifying a configuration for use in any PC is a very important thing

• MaxPCI and MdPCI require a lot of power

• Overloading a system can cause:

  • Thermal failure of power supply connections to motherboard/backplane
  • Power supply failure
  • System overheating
  • Damage to MaxPCI boards and other system peripherals

• Can require an expensive repair
